Voters Voice Amendment (VVA)

Congress's shady stock trades

There are no specific rules or laws preventing our Congressional Representatives from using privileged information learned on-the-job from being used for personal gain. One key method is by buying or selling stocks before privileged corporate, or other economic information, is made available to the public, i.e., insider trading. Martha Stewart went to jail for doing the same thing. One cannot use privileged corporate information for personal gain by trading ahead of the public announcement of the information. This should be made explicitly illegal for Congress, and to prevent abuse, our Representatives while in office, should not be allowed to trade in individual stocks, or else, have their portfolio controlled by an executor. Thanks to John Stewart for making this point.

Purpose above Politics & Power

Voters create and pass laws ourselves
